In this paper a roaming in 802.11 standard networks with and without support of Quality of Service (QoS) is examined by means of the OPNET software. The description of QoS and roaming in 802.11 networks is cited. The network operation is modeled in OPNET software, and the characteristics of network components are presented. Parameters of delay, queue size and access point (AP) connectivity with and without QoS are collected and analyzed.
