This paper is focuses on measuring of the parameters of quality of services in optical access network EPON using the new standard EtherSam. First, this new standard is described and compared with the possibilities of its predecessor RFC 2544. Then there are also the results of the measurements for these two standards for passive optical network EPON and the results of bit error rate BER.
