Measurement standard error or else accuracy of the most geodetic instruments are presented by makers. But not always maker's accuracy definition agrees with the real accuracy of "our" instrument. This is the reason for a calibration. This paper deals with concept, creation and determination of the test point field for scanner Velodyne HDL-64E-S2. For independent point field measurement was used close range photogrammetric method and digital reflex camera with wide-angle objective. The points were stabilized by coded and non-coded targets. Photogrammetric processing was performed with the usage of automatic target marking and referencing. Condition for point's standard error of position was met. The obtained value is better than one tenth of the scanner's length standard error.
