The quality of water directly affects the quality ov our lives. Polluted water endangers health of family, pets an livestoc. Clean surface water - stream, rives, ponds and lakes - can also increae the value of our porperty. Population distributin, land use, industrial activity. agricultural proctices nad pollution - contro. strategies have all changed significantly since 1990. The effects of these changes on water quality and the consequences on human and ecological health and the use of water resources are of major economic and social importance.
