Virtually all advanced countries have been dealing with University curricula innovations recently. These efforts may be characterized by using new information and communication technologies (ICT), which now include a wide range of technical facilities, computers and software packages and their aggregation. One of the easiest options is to use finished products, such as: dictionaries, multimedia encyclopaedias, computer-based computing, modelling and simulation systems, multimedia and interactive teaching aids etc. Nowadays, Internet is used for the most parts not only as a source of information, but also as an on-line educational tool. To this end, Internet-based (mostly multimedia) textbooks and examination tests are created. Use of ICT is now being adopted on a large scale chiefly by Czech Technical Universities, among them the Technical University (TU) of Brno. Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication, TU, is very well equipped to this end with up-to-date schoolrooms and is also using software packages in the teaching process. Among them is also CUPS.
