Originální abstrakt

The present paper describes the influence of seven important geometry parameters of gas burner with staged fuel supply on the formation of nitrogen oxides. Large number of experiments was carried out using a staged gas burner with nominal heat duty of 1000 kW. Natural gas was used as the fuel. The burner was installed in a horizontal water-cooled combustion chamber. The tests were aimed at analyzing the influence of seven geometry factors (for example geometry of swirl generator and secondary nozzle heads) on the formation of nitrogen oxides. Formation of nitrogen oxides was not the only observed dependent variable. Other variables include carbon monoxide emissions, as well as the shape and structure of visible flame. From the evaluation of measured data it follows that by means of geometry optimization of certain burner components it is possible to reduce the formation of nitrogen oxides by up to about 60%, while securing stable flame with the required shape.
