This paper is focused on the description of two basic equipments which transform currents in the range of a few hundred kiloampers to values which supply the protection or measuring equipment inputs. These equipments are the current transformers and current sensors and its function and construction description is represented here. In the end of paper are described its principal differences as is mag-netic circuit, output signal, size, accuracy and safety at work
