Originální abstrakt

The wood is easily renewable natural material with the specific characteristics which have to be considering within a design phase of log houses. The log houses rank a very high position in the contemporary building classification according to LCA (Life cycle assessment). Energy intensity of the construction life is calculated since the building material production, through the service period till the demolition and removal. The paper deals with present trends in designing of the external cladding of log houses and refers about the healthy and comfortable interior environment of these buildings.
