Risk analysis represents a modern approach of determining the level of provision of drinking water supplies for the consumers and the safety of the whole drinking water supply system. Structuring of risks is a necessary part of the risk analysis and should be set up so as to correspond with aim of the risk analysis in specific conditions. In the paper authors are presenting some basic principles of risk analysis and risk structuring as it is used abroad as well as in the Czech Republic.
