The subject of the study whose results are presented here is the detection of a change in parameters of the response to an acoustic impulse resulting from a hammer blow at predefined points of cement-mortar-made specimens which had been pre-treated by applying a protective epoxy varnish. Progressive carbon dioxide treatment was used to degrade the specimens under test. The execution and evaluation of our experiments was based on the so-called Impact-echo method. The tests were carried out prior to the degradation start and, subsequently, at predefined time intervals. Thus obtained response signals were analyzed by means of the frequency inspection method.
