Abstrakt

The functional sample of the diagnostic sensor for automotive usage is a low-power universal device for dynamic mechanical quantities sensing. The hardware platform is able to sense the mechanical vibration signal, acoustic pressure and acoustic/ultrasonic emission (AE). It contains two MEMS sensing elements for acceleration vibration sensing, one AE sensing element for surface wave acquisition and one MEMS microphone for acoustic pressure sensing. The used AE sensing element is of proprietary design, featuring a thin piezoelectric disc and an waveguide rod to ensure broadband measurement of acoustic surface waves. The device is also equipped with the powerful STM32 microcontroller with the built-in algorithms for computing specific condition indicators from measured signals and other necessary circuits for signal conditioning. Thanks to the CAN bus interface, the sensor can be simply integrated into complex system, e.g. car vehicle. Overall concept is intended to be a universal and modular platform, which final function can be defined by the internal software, which can be easily changed based on the customer requirements. The sensor is built in the industrial metal housing with M5 thread hole for reliable mounting on the measured and diagnosed machine. Electrical connection is ensured by the industrial circular connector and flexible cable.
