In the field of air quality protection, solid particles are under increasing scrutiny. The particles themselves cause mainly deposits on plants and burden fauna with their presence. However, they are far more dangerous due to their high porosity and the large surface area that very easily adsorbs chemicals, including toxic heavy metals and hazardous persistent organic pollutants, making the particles transporting these pollutants. A large proportion of solid pollutants (PM) emissions are from local furnaces and unregulated combustion of organic waste. Due to legislative pressure on manufacturers and sellers, the emission limits of local furnaces are becoming more stringent, but most of the methods used are already reaching their limits. The paper deals with the size of SP emitted during the combustion of biomass and biodegradable waste and about the possibilities of their elimination.
