This article treats of system used for performing experiments with low voltage circuit breakers and of the subsequent analysis of acquired data. The first part focuses on the description of the experimental bench that has been designed in our department to provide short-circuit currents. The next part describes the possibilities of plasma diagnostics available in our department. The attention is focused on usage of special program for analyzing electric arc pictures taken from the digital high-speed camera.
