Originální abstrakt
The present contribution deals with scaling properties of joint rock coefficients that play a crucial role when mechanical stabilities of rock masses are evaluated. The roughness of rock joints essentially influences shear strength of rock masses and thus the assessment of these coefficients is very important. In the current geotechnical practice a visual assessment based on ten two-dimensional profile standards is frequently used. The visual assessment is rather a subjective procedure. By analyzing scaling properties of the joint rock coefficients their fractal character is revealed and their direct connection with fractal dimensions of jointed surfaces is established.
