This paper deals with the use of a mathematical program MATLAB in teaching of Mathematics in the context of Computer exercises from Mathematics, which is a mandatory subject of the first year at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Brno University of Technology and is taught in the summer semester. Emphasis is placed on issues related to the development of new versions of both the program and the text editors and their impact on the didactics of teaching in such varying software environment.
