This crankshaft is designed for a supercharged two-stroke compression-ignition opposed-piston genset engine. In order to achieve low weight combined with high stiffness and sufficient durability and with respect to assumed short run production, the crankshaft is fully machined from 34CrNiMo6 material and there is used a chemical-heat treatment of the exposed areas.
