Paper describes a programmable elliptic filter structure based on operational amplifiers and analog multiplexers controlled with a 2-bit digital word. The proposed filter structure forms a basic second-order building block in the cascade design of high-order elliptic lowpass filters with electronically programmable frequency response. To confirm the theoretical analysis, simulated and measured results of the eighth-order elliptic lowpass filter with the programmable cut-off frequency in the four steps (450Hz, 1kHz, 4.5kHz and 10kHz) are included.
