Learning outcomes:
Students will gain professional knowledge in the field of the legal system in the Czech Republic and the EU, they will gain detailed insight into the legal regulations in the building industry and the competence of the authorities in spatial planning and building regulations. They will be able to practically use spatial planning tools, be familiar with the building permit processes of the building regulations, including the JES, EIA and SEA processes, and they will be able to prevent offences. They will be familiar with professional activities in construction and the conditions for their performance, and the authorisation process. They will be able to analyse the technical requirements for structures and be aware of the technical requirements for construction products. They will be familiar with the process of expropriation as a means of promoting the public interest. They will gain an overview of the possibilities of carrying out professional activities in the construction field as authorised persons in an employment relationship, both under the Trade Licensing Act and within companies. Students will gain a general overview of the binding legal regulations for the responsible exercise of their future profession and the future authorisation examination.

The student will need a Current Collection of Laws, including the Building Act.
A criteria to award credit consist of the development of a written assignment on the spatial plan topic in the range of 3,600 – 7,200 characters according to detailed instructions (maximum 10 points) and a written test (maximum 30 points). 20 points are required to obtain a course-unit credit.
