This article deals with problematic of automatic control of small energy sources such as wind turbines, hydro power plants and photovoltaic energy systems. Basic theory of controlling and system demands are described. As a example, control system based on a programmable logic controller is given. Advantages and disadvantages of this type of solution are furthermore discussed.
