Originální abstrakt

Novel Half Space Radiation Mode (HSRM) method for analyzing shallowly buried waveguides is presented. A theory of the method is presented for the case of the scalar and polarized fields. In the results section, the accuracy of the method is compared with results obtained from the numerical Finite Difference (FD) method. A range of structures is analyzed and effect of the air-semiconductor boundary on their propagation constants is investigated.
