Originální abstrakt

Since simulations form an important part in research work, many simulators for network environment have been developed as well. However, wireless sensor networks (WSN) feature significant differences and specifics, which limit the use of general network simulators for the simulations in wireless sensor network environments. This paper focuses on the specifics of WSN simulations. It gives an introduction to simulation part of the research work as well as the specific requirements for simulations in WSN. The description of the state-of-art WSN simulators is presented to help with the proper choice of the simulator in WSN research.

Anglický abstrakt

Since simulations form an important part in research work, many simulators for network environment have been developed as well. However, wireless sensor networks (WSN) feature significant differences and specifics, which limit the use of general network simulators for the simulations in wireless sensor network environments. This paper focuses on the specifics of WSN simulations. It gives an introduction to simulation part of the research work as well as the specific requirements for simulations in WSN. The description of the state-of-art WSN simulators is presented to help with the proper choice of the simulator in WSN research.
