Spatial distribution of metals in top soils and contamiantion assessment methods

Abstrakt

This environmental study is focused on the distribution of heavy metals in the top soils of selected localities. The samples were from various localities of Moravia and Slovakia. The criterium for samplings was different industrial, traffic and agricultural situation and supposed different metal contamination of top soils. To assess the level of contamination indexes such as the pollution index (PI), integrated pollution index (IPI), contamination factor (Cf) and the degree of contamination (Cdeg) were calculated to assessing the contamination level of heavy metals in top soils.
