Flexible network ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) has been designed at the Department of Telecommunications, the Brno University of Technology, the Czech Republic. This paper describes main results received in the LANE Operation. The ATM network consists of two active elements- switches (the technology Cisco is used) and it will be connected to Brno university high-speed network. A simple ring network is designed in this way (see Fig.1). It is in real operation, but it is good for intensive research at the same time.
