Very often repeated statement about high importance of the implantation of information technology for achievement of the competitiveness has become almost stereotyped part of many books, analyses and annual reports of companies. It is surely reality that information technology plays ever-growing role, but the question is what is the way of its usage. The problem of relation between use of implemented information technology at companies and its support of creating of competitive advantage process is analysed in this paper.
