Originální abstrakt

The fiber Bragg gratings (FBG) are fiber optic passive components exhibiting basic functional attributes of reflection and filtering. They are relatively simple to manufacture, small in dimension, low cost and exhibit good immunity changing ambient conditions and electromagnetic radiation. FBGs as well as Bragg mirrors can replace bulk optic mirrors and beam splitters in equipment which increases system stability and portability. The description of Bragg grating and mirrors fundamentals and possible applications in telecommunications and sensors is presented.
