Originální abstrakt

The paper gives certain essential facts in connection with the current important anniversaries, into the framework of which this international conference has been included. Brno University of Technology is the oldest Brno university. Its origins go as far back as the middle of the 19th century, the year 1849, when a German-Czech technical college was founded in Brno. The Czech Technical University in Brno was, however, inaugurated in November 1899 on the basis of a decree of the Emperor of 19 September 1899.
