Originální abstrakt

The paper describes an innovation of practices in teaching of compulsory course Theory of Communication, which has been taught since winter term of academic year 2005/2006 in the recently opened master's study programme Telecommunication and Informatics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication, Brno University of Technology. Innovation effort focused on improving of lectures and practices interconnection so that students could verify obtained knowledge by means of computer simulations and laboratory experiments. In addition to work process, themes and contents of individual computer and laboratory practices are introduced. Laboratory equipment and newly developed instruments are also presented in the paper.
