Originální abstrakt

Using a 6 wt.% Ni-enriched 2507 super duplex stainless steel (SDSS) powder feedstock, alternating 1 mm thick strata were fabricated by laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) through variation of the volumetric energy density, enabling control of the local thermal history and melt pool lifetime. The resulting mesostructure was characterized using electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) and correlative hardness mapping. EBSD confirmed the formation of distinct alternating strata with varying austenite fractions, while hardness mapping demonstrated that these microstructural variations translate directly into a tailored mesoscale mechanical response. Overall, the results show that combining tailored feedstock chemistry with control of the local thermal history provides an effective strategy for designing hierarchical microstructures and optimizing the performance of additively manufactured SDSS.
