The engineering industry and foundry sector are at a crossroads between traditional manufacturing processes and modern technologies that are fundamentally changing the way metal components for the energy, railway, automotive, petrochemical, shipbuilding, and mining industries are manufactured. The primary research data consists of a combination of publicly available environmental indicators for the engineering sector, supplemented by a time sample of production or energy consumption for piece and small-batch production in the selected company.
