Originální abstrakt

The paper is devoted to the study of the combustion process in fibrous organic materials based on natural fibers. The paper presents the results of research focused on the study of the relationship between the microstructure of organic fibrous insulation materials, fiber properties and their resulting reaction to fire. This is a comprehensive approach to describing the reaction to fire beyond the scope of classification according to EN 13501-1. The basic test methods used to determine the reaction to fire are used, but they are used more comprehensively and are supplemented by additional experiments. The effort is also to capture the influence of the bulk density, arrangement and possibly also the orientation of the fibers for individual structures. The classification mainly includes ecological insulation materials based on natural and secondary raw materials, which are classified in basic classes F-D. The conclusions of the experiments are important primarily for designing new types of insulation materials based on natural fibers, where the correct design of the insulation and its structure can improve the reaction to fire even without significant modification of the raw materials using chemical flame retardants.
