Originální abstrakt

This paper introduces an integrated solution for XG-PON network analysis, combining a Python-based parser with a Wireshark Lua dissector. The Python parser efficiently converts large raw binary captures from XG-PON network analyzers into the PcapNG format, supporting both upstream and downstream data. The Lua module enables detailed, real-time dissection of XG-PON protocol frames directly in Wireshark, making network diagnostics more accessible. Experimental evaluation on real XG-PON data demonstrates fast processing and accurate error correction, with the decoded protocol fields and management messages clearly displayed in the Wireshark interface. This approach significantly enhances the analysis and troubleshooting capabilities for optical network operators and researchers, with future work aimed at extending protocol support.
