Zařízení sdružuje funkci několika dříve oddělených zkušebních strojů, kromě testování brzd a měření emisí na něm lze také v omezené míře odebírat výkon z kol automobilu. Umožňuje tak měření emisí pod zátěží, kdy je při spalování vylučováno mnohem větší množství emisí, především oxidů dusíku než při „zvýšeném volnoběhu“. Výsledky jsou tak mnohem relevantnější než při stávadící metodice, která se využívá na STK. Ovládání emisního testeru je možné přes uživatelské rozhranní běžící v běžném webovém prohlížeči. Tester je tak možné ovládat bezdrátově přes wifi z přenosných zařízení jako je tablet, či smartphone. Tester je vybaven senzory, které snímají správnou pozici automobilu na testeru. Bez najetého vozidla, nebo při vyjetí vozidla z testeru během testu jsou válce automaticky zastaveny.

The device combines the function of several previously separate test machines, in addition to testing brakes and measuring emissions, it can also extract power from the car's wheels to a limited extent. This enables the measurement of emissions under load, when a much larger amount of emissions, especially nitrogen oxides, is released during combustion than during "increased idling". The results are thus much more relevant than with the current methodology that is used at STK. Control of the emission tester is possible via a user interface running in a regular web browser. The tester can thus be controlled wirelessly via Wi-Fi from portable devices such as a tablet or smartphone. The tester is equipped with sensors that detect the correct position of the car on the tester. Without the vehicle running, or when the vehicle leaves the tester during the test, the cylinders are automatically stopped.
