The paper deals with the behaviour of concrete sleepers in ballast. The undesirable settlements accompanied by deviation of track alignment design parameters have been observed by operation speed within 160 km.h-1. That is why the geodetic surveying, static and dynamic analyses have been done for explanation the reasons and development of defects. Recent activities were focused on measurement of vertical movements of long turnout sleepers during railway vehicle passages. An assumption about changes of support sleepers in ballast bed caused by dynamical effects was vindicated by the evaluation results.
