Originální abstrakt

We compared two types of detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA) parameters: classic (short- (ST) and long-term (LT) fluctuations) and frequency-based parameters (short-, intermediate- (IT) and long-term fluctuations). Frequencybased parameters were divided into three subtypes according to the different computation of the average heart rate (HR): 1) HR is computed from entire data set (common HR); 2) HR is computed from each data group extra (group HR); 3) HR is calculated from each single signal apart (single HR). We tested their ability to differentiate between a healthy control group and a congestive heart failure group and measured accuracy of DFA parameter computation using root-mean-square deviation. We found that higher accuracy of DFA parameter computation leads to better discrimination power. All LT parameters did not significantly differ between groups. IT parameters revealed significant differences between groups (p < 0.01). ST parameters achieved the same significance level (p < 0.001). The best differentiation between groups was found in frequency-based ST parameter with common HR.
