The atomization of liquids plays a crucial role in numerous industrial processes and there is still a lot of unknowns about the atomization process of non-Newtonian liquids for effervescent atomizers (EF) and hollow cone pressure swirl atomizer (HC). Non-Newtonian liquids and dilute polymer solutions, characterized by shear-thinning properties, tend to generate narrower drop sizes compared to Newtonian liquids across a broader range of operational conditions [2]. Furthermore, it indicates that these liquids exhibit distinct Relative Span Factors (RSF) [3]. Non-Newtonian liquids can be made by adding polymers to deionized water, such as Xanthan Gum [1] and Guar Gum which are food additives. To properly characterize the non-Newtonian features, we will compare these liquids with a Newtonian liquid that has the same zero shear viscosity.
