Originální abstrakt

The research has investigated correlation between performance in the construction activities and GDP at the national evel as well as the level of individual regions. The analysis has been performed based on the data collected during 1998- 2014 period. Regression analysis and correlation coefficient have been applied in order to determine the dependence between regional gross domestic product and its civil engineering production. Research results have determined the highest value of the correlation coefficient for GDP and civil engineering activity in the total values for the whole Czech Republic. This dependence, however, was not confirmed at the regional level, where very important difference between influence of public and private (business) investments has been identified. It can be concluded that civil engineering production has a very strong influence on GDP, but in case of smaller areas, the impact of public investments shows a significant time delay. l
