Originální abstrakt
The phenomenon of electromagnetic emission (EME) from solids is based on the generation of an electromagnetic field accompanying the mechanical excitation of the solids in question. We suppose, that the crack faces are electrically charged due to rupture of inter-atomic and inter-ionic bonds. This results in dipole, quadrupole, or more complicated electric charge systems. Two metallic layers have covered the tested devices to create metal-insulator-metal structure. The electric dipole system is a source of voltage induced on metal electrodes. The experiments were designed and carried out to give evidence of the mentioned phenomenon. The experimental study has been performed on rock and composite samples.
