The contribution abstracts the scientific knowledge from the international symposium Non-Destructive Testing in Civil Engineering held in Berlin, September 2003. In 24 sections 108 contributions were presented and 64 posters installed. Discussion in the sections dealt with the various methods of building materials testing such as optic, sonic, and radiographic and methods of moisture measurement, monitoring methods, impact-echo and electrical methods. Many contributions dealt with the problems of reinforcement corrosion. Another set of contribution was focused on application of ultrasonic, radar, thermograph and acoustic emission at testing building materials and structures.
