Questionnaire Surveys 2025 - 2022 - 2020

Questionnaire 2025

We would like to thank you for your active participation in the questionnaire survey among employees of BUT, which took place in October 2025. Your opinions, experiences, and recommendations represent a very valuable basis for improving the working environment, HR processes, and for developing a culture of respect, cooperation, and trust across the university.
The final report is HERE and so NEWS / HRS4R section as well as on the university SharePoint in the section INFORMATION FOR EMPLOYEES / Questionnaire Survey.

The questionnaire could be completed between 9 October 2025 and 28 October 2025.
The request to complete the survey was sent by email on October 9, 2025.

Summary of the questionnaire survey:
• Interest in completing the questionnaire was much higher than three years ago; the response rate increased by more than 10 percentage points to almost 40%.
• BUT as an institution, as well as individual workplaces (slightly more so), enables employees above average to balance work and private life. However, interest in more frequent use of home office is high (54%).
• Most respondents have additional benefits at their workplace beyond those offered university-wide; this was reported more often by technical and economic staff.
• 84% of BUT employees believe that there is no preferential treatment in professional or career development at their workplace based on gender (or other criteria).
• 86% feel supported by their supervisors in their development, with 72% feeling fully supported.
• However, 22% miss feedback, mostly because their supervisors do not have enough time to address these matters.
• 52% of employees believe that their workload corresponds to the scope of their employment; 32% report having rather more work, and 15% are long-term overloaded.
• Conditions for teaching at BUT are relatively good, but there is room for improvement. The survey reflected a recurring opinion that teaching is a secondary matter at BUT.
• The most desired type of mobility is international mobility; however, technical and economic staff equally appreciate institutional mobility within the Czech Republic.
• Only slightly more than half of employees (54%) who joined recently were assigned a mentor.
• Four out of five employees feel above-average safe and supported at their workplace in terms of social relations.
• Overall job satisfaction at BUT is relatively high, averaging 3.8 on a scale of 1 to 5; internal communication across the university scores the lowest (though still above average).

Information about the survey is also available on Sharepoint/Information for Employees/Questionnaire Survey.
More detailed information was also prepared by the Human Resources Department in the News section and on our website Support and Development of Employees and Students.
It is mentioned in the December 2025 issue of the NEWSLETTER.
