English for Bachelors 2

A specialized English course for students of a minimal intermediate level, focused on corporate English and communication skills in the work environment. 

In addition to the necessary boosting of grammatical structures, it focuses particularly on selected functions and pragmatic aspects of the language used in the corporate environment in order for students to acquire the English language knowledge and skills necessary to successfully operate and communicate in (not only) corporate companies.

Entry knowledge

Knowledge of all language skills on at least B1 CEFR level of all skills is required prior enterring the course. For more detailed specifications please refer to Common European Framework of Refference for Languages (CEFR) 

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

75% attendance and active participation at classes, fulfilment of given assignments.

40% - semester test - evaluates the level of knowledge one has acquiered during the semester and a project presentation
Final exam:
30% - reading - evaluates and asseses the abilities to work with a written text, abilities to analyze, synthetize, paraphrase, organize and reproduce information from the text
30% - listening - evaluates and asseses the abilities to understand spoken English, abilities to analyze, synthetize, paraphrase, organize and reproduce information from the listening
The content and forms of instruction in the evaluated course are specified by a regulation issued by the lecturer responsible for the course and updated for every academic year.

The course takes over 13 weeks in the form of language exercises. Attendance at seminars is compulsory (75 %). Absence must be properly apologized. If the absence exceeds 75%, it must be compensated by students for missed hours.

This is a specialized English course; certificates in general English or high school graduation exams are not to be recognized



Aims

The aim of the course is to acquire the necessary language knowledge and skills required to perform tasks in the work process and professional communication. 

Strengthening and improving grammatical structures and increasing specialized vocabulary. 

TGiving graduates the necessary communication skills in English and improving their employability and qualifications for the job market.
