With the increasing number of small photovoltaic power plants with capacities of up to 10 kWp in residential areas and households, the need for reliable communication between the elements of the networks created by this process is also growing. This work focuses on the theoretical analysis of communication networks and their architectures in the field of small photovoltaic systems. Based on an analysis of requirements and a review of the most commonly used communication technologies, a universal prototype of a communication module intended for use in the so-called last-mile area of these networks is proposed.
