Summer with technology, art and science. BUT presents the focus of summer schools

To keep classrooms and labs from sitting empty over the summer, Brno University of Technology is offering a wide range of summer schools taking place at its faculties and institutes from June to September. These summer schools will allow participants to dive into science and the arts, exploring fields they’re passionate about. High school students can choose from 27 summer programs to experience science hands-on.

Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

Highschoolers can spend their summer with technology at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, which is organizing five different summer schools. If you’re interested in designing new products, a perfect choice is the Summer School of 3D Printing and Design – IngCamp 2025, held from July 21–25. Participants will design a vehicle's propulsion mechanism and bodywork, work with a 3D printer, and race in a pneumobile. Register here.

Summer School of Programming and Artificial Intelligence will take place from July 28–31 and will immerse students in Python programming, robotics, and working with AI.

Summer School of Mechatronics, happening from July 28 to August 1, offers insights into various mechatronics areas. Participants will solder, measure circuits, program control systems—and might even meet a collaborative robot! Register by July 13.

At the Summer School of Materials Science: Discover the World of Materials ini August 25–28, students will explore the micro-world of materials and their surprising properties. The program includes a field trip to Tescan, where participants will get a behind-the-scenes look at electron microscope production. Register by June 30.

Summer School of Engineering Technologies offers an experience in machining, casting, forming, and 3D printing. Participants will gain hands-on experience and create custom souvenirs. The school takes place from August 25–28, 2025. Register by June 25 here.

Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication

Summer School of Biomedicine in June 9–11 introduces the connection between medicine and technology. Participants will measure muscle activity, analyze heart rhythm, dismantle a CT scanner, compare their DNA to that of dinosaurs, and even learn how to trick a lie detector.

At the Summer School of Cybersecurity in June 23–25, students will learn about common cyberattacks, ethical hacking, malware analysis, and how malware works, all in advanced labs including the cyber arena BUTCA. Register here.

The Radioelectronics Workshop: Mission with Impact in July 28–30 lets students build and test a telemetry unit, learn about wireless communication and sensor data collection. The program includes expert lectures and excursions. Register by June 15.

The faculty is also organizing a day camp titled Plant Wellbeing from August 11–15.

Center of Sports Activities

Summer School of Sports Technologies, organized in collaboration with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, lets high schoolers explore movement analysis, sports training monitoring, and load testing. Takes place June 23–25. Register by June 15.
