Chapel of St. Anne in Vrbice will have a bell cast by FME BUT
Chapel of St. Anne in Vrbice will have a bell cast by FME BUT
A bell weighing almost three kilograms for St. Anne's Chapel was cast by master foundrymen from FSI this Sunday in Vrbice in the Břeclav region. Dozens of local residents watched the production of the bell, which will be named Hope. The blessing of the bell for the chapel, which has not had a bell until now, is planned for July 26, when St. Anne's Day is celebrated.

The church bells announce the time in the village, but the municipality wanted to fill the empty space in the belfry. "We walked around it and wondered why it didn't have a bell. I couldn't find the answer anywhere. Then I came across the fact that they had a bell cast in Ořechov, and I liked the idea. What's more, my wife works at the University of Technology, where they do casting, and one thing led to another. Once we had decided to get one, we didn't want to just buy it. We thought it would be nice to make the bell in front of people on parish day," Vrbice mayor Tomáš Bílek told ČTK.

The new bell is 20 centimeters in diameter and bears the name "Naděje" (Hope), the name of the village, the date of manufacture, and the fact that it was cast by VUT. The casting was carried out in front of the locals by experts from the Institute of Engineering Technology, Ondřej Štoček and Radim Jelínek. As already mentioned, a bell was cast in a similar way last spring
