This year's BoosterChallenge summer challenge at BUT has registered 19 student teams who will be working on their own projects across various fields during the summer months. Many of them are still looking for new members. BoosterChallenge BUT is a programme designed for students who want to spend their holidays developing their own ideas instead of doing internships or part-time jobs, gain valuable experience in teamwork and move their project from an idea to a functional prototype. The best projects will receive financial awards at the end of the summer. Last year, the Věrka project was one of the winners of the BoosterChallenge VUT. | Author: FIT BUT
Instead of internships in corporations or part-time jobs, some students invest their summer months in realising their own projects. BoosterChallenge BUT is a student project competition, which is now in its sixth year. Originally, it focused exclusively on IT projects and was organised by the Faculty of Information Technology (FIT). Over time, however, it has expanded, gaining support from other faculties, and for the second year running, it is being organised under the auspices of the innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem at BUT, ContriBUTe. The event traditionally gives students a unique opportunity to bring their visions closer to realisation and practical application. The best projects will be awarded an attractive financial prize in September.
This year's competition has selected 19 student projects covering a wide range of topics. The topics include, for example, an interior drone, a system for bicycles that automatically regulates tyre pressure, a modern fitness application and an interactive map of fishing grounds. An overview of all submitted projects is available on the programme website Star(t)up@FIT website.
Many teams are still looking for new members from among students and teachers. Students who are interested in getting involved can continue to take advantage of this opportunity to collaborate on interesting topics and gain valuable practical experience. Academic staff also have the opportunity to support selected projects, for example in the form of consultations.
Supporting entrepreneurship among students and employees is one of BUT's strategic priorities. That is why the university has created ContriBUTe, an innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem that supports education, opportunities, events, resources and contacts in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. It thus contributes to turning ideas at BUT into real business. Source: FIT BUT
