„I am honored to have been granted this highest award from Ariel University, which is one of the prestigious Israeli research universities and a long-time international partner of BUT. I am particularly pleased that since our universities signed a memorandum of cooperation in 2012, we have been successfully developing a strong partnership and achieving results in higher education, research, and the development of technology transfer,“ stated Karel Rais regarding the award.
An example of inter-university cooperation is a summer school, during which architecture students from BUT and Ariel University worked together on ideas and proposals for the temporary use of a site where the Moravian Jewish Museum in Brno is to be built.
Last year, on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of BUT, representatives of Ariel University also received awards at a festive academic assembly in Brno. BUT honored Professor Zwilling with a silver medal for long-term cooperation. Professor Pinhasov received an honorable mention for his long-term support of scientific and pedagogical inter-university cooperation.
