Another extraordinary success has been achieved by the university spin-off DynaNIC Semiconductors, which has its roots at the Faculty of Information Technology of Brno University of Technology (FIT BUT). The company succeeded in this year's Venture Club Disrupt Awards competition, organized under the auspices of Startup Disrupt and Venture Club. This year, 45 projects applied for the competition, and 5 were selected for the finals. Representatives of DynaNIC presented their project to investors at the gala evening held on June 3 at the Prague Castle – and ultimately won first place and with it an investment of up to 3 million euros. The organizers highlighted, among other things, the fact that DynaNIC is proof that a breakthrough hardware project with global potential can emerge even in Central Europe.DynaNIC is a technology spin-off focused on the development of advanced network solutions based on the use of FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) technologies. It enables significantly faster network traffic processing by offloading demanding network operations from the processor to programmable network cards with data flow speeds of up to 400 Gb/s.Jan Kořenek presented the spin-off DynaNIC from Brno University of Technology to investors. | Author: Disrupt AwardsIt thus responds to current challenges related to the rapid development of AI and the increase in data transmission volumes, as confirmed by Jan Kořenek from DynaNIC and also from the Accelerated Network Technologies Research Group: “One chip programmed by us can replace dozens to hundreds of computers with its computing capacity. Instead of a large number of computers, one with an acceleration card containing a programmed FPGA chip is sufficient. This also significantly reduces energy consumption.”More about DynaNIC's key product in our previous post. And DynaNIC's major milestones? There have been many in the past year.
