The branch of study is focused on education of university educated experts for electrotechnical practice. The knowledge gained in subjects of theoretical fundamentals are further developed in special subjects focused on the spheres of electronics and electrical engineering electronic and electrotechnical devices and equipment, materials for electrotechnics, production processes and their control diagnostics, testing, reliability and quality control, projecting in the CAD systems, projecting of production, logistics and ecology with a share of knowledge of economy, management and marketing. Electrotechnical industry is utilizing many various kinds of production technology starting with procedures at large-size objects through specialized procedures at miniaturized objects up to quite unique technology being on the frontiers of physical limits. This wide spectrum of procedures provides also wide possibilities of choosing their technical use and economic upvaluation. The structure of the subjects of study and their selectivity enable students to choose a suitable combination of subjects according to their own consideration and to focuse on the spheres of electronic or electrotechnical production. The aim of the branch is to prepare graduates able to solve independently sophisticated technical problems in electrotechnical production among others also in economic relations and with regard to quality and ecology of production. The selected subjects from the sphere of economy and management are provided by pedagogs from the Faculty of Business and Management of the Brno University of Technology.

The branch is focused on education of university educated experts for electrotechnical practice. It profiles the graduate for independent professional and managing work in the spheres of electronic and electrotechnical technology and production. The graduate gains knowledge and skill in the sphere of computer technique and extensive knowledge in the sphere of design of integrated circuits and their application in electrotechnical devices and computers and in the sphere of design of electrotechnical products, production processes, technology and materials for electrotechnics as well as fundamental knowledge in the sphere of economy and management.
The students have a possibility to choose a suitable combination of subjects according to their own consideration and to focus on the spheres of electronic or electrotechnical production. Graduates of the studies are able, according to their closer professional profile, to solve independently on a professional level the tasks focused not only on design and realization of electrotechnical or electronic production but also tasks connected with projecting and logistic ensuring of production, diagnostics and testing, quality control and reliability of products and with ecology of production processes.
Graduates will find posts in electrotechnical practice, in plants involved generally in electrotechnical production, in managing functions in electrotechnical firms and companies or they can continue in the magister`s programme of studies. In the sphere of electrotechnical production they will find posts everywhere in plants where general knowledge of various branches of electrical engineering and computer technique and further specialized knowledge of the spheres like modern design systems, microelectronics, production processes and technology, materials for electrotechnical industry, technical and economic knowledge of preparation and control of production, diagnostics and quality control, projecting of production and ecology of production processes are required.
