1. Settlements changes along the common border South Moravia and Lower Austria 1950-2050

   The topic focuses on the transformations of settlements in the South Moravian and Lower Austrian borderlands from World War II to the present, an analysis of the past and a prediction of possible further developments. The phenomena that have affected the structure of settlements, agricultural lands and landscapes and are of importance for the development of the area will be analyzed. For example, a comparison of territorial or demographic developments in recent decades is expected.

2. The typology of the contemporary city and the village

   The pluralism of the postmodern area, globalization and goals of sustainable development bring new requirements into our city organisation and our settlement of countryside. Do our settlements and their traditional compositional elements comply with the needs of the near future? Is the corresponding form compact city or garden city? What role will landscape, and villages play in the future?
