This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of various charging methods applied for Li- ion batteries and their subsequent degradation during long-term use. The first chapter discusses the history and development of electrochemical sources, together with a description of the operating principles of primary and secondary cells. The following chapter focuses on the functioning and types of materials used in Li-ion batteries. The third chapter describes the use of batteries in electromobility. The fourth chapter presents the charging protocols of Li-ion batteries and provides examples of their practical applications. The practical part is focused on testing two selected Li-ion cells using the chosen charging protocols. The final chapter evaluates the data obtained from long-term cycling, load tests, hysteresis measurements, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy of the cells.
