The bachelor's thesis is focused on the issue of observation of a lead acid battery electrode by atomic force microscopy (AFM). The thesis contains an introduction to the issue of lead acid batteries, methods of observation using SPM, and a summary of existing works dealing with similar issues. Furthermore, observation of a lead electrode in air and in the environment of distilled water without the action of electrical potential is performed. Subsequently, the battery cell is cycled and observed in active mode.
